GENERAL TIPS 

1. As you wake up ,splash some fresh water on your eyes, keeping some water in your mouth. After washing throw that  water from your mouth.

 2. Drink atleast one to four  glass of water (as comfortable), in morning as you wake up,  for clean stomach. 

3. Always drink or eat in sitting position rather then standing position. This is because the input doors of stomach opens up only in sitting position. Any liquid or solid , if taken in standing position, will  lead to forced entry through input doors and not automatic smooth entry. This leads to acidity, gas, burps etc.


In cross legs sitting position  blood flow to the legs decrease, there is more blood flowing around the abdomen region and this helps to improve digestion. Some people believe that the pressure of the heel against the abdomen helps to improve digestion.

All you need is a low table on which you can put your food and a little rug/mat to sit on. When you sit down to eat in this position, your digestive juices are concentrated in your stomach and prepared for digesting the food you eat. 

 Other benefits of sitting cross legged - When your feet are below your heart (as in a position when sitting on a chair), the blood circulation is being directed to your feet, as opposed to when you sit cross-legged on the floor where your heart receives the benefit of better circulation 

 

4. Think of a highway, if the slowest cars are in front they'll hold up the faster cars behind them, causing a traffic jam. The same goes for your food. Eat those fastest to digest first and save the tougher to digest foods for the second half of your meal.

Similarly some people take milk just after eating  spicy food or solid diet with chutneys, pickle etc. Now this milk will definitely ferment and produce toxic substances when it comes in contact with solid diet. SO this will cause indigestion problems.

 

So its better to takes fruit fist so that it get digested within few minutes and after that we can take solid diet.. And if we have to take milk then we should keep a gap of atleast 45 minutes.

And if  all 3  are mixed then it will definitely lead to acidity, gas, burps, and other indigestion problems. ( As normally happens in marriages and other parties. )

 

5. After taking proper diet keep on sitting for atleast 15-20 minutes so that the food reaches its required place. Take plenty of water but not after eating  solid diet else it will create more problem rather then giving any benefit. 

When you are having your food avoid water especially cold water. While eating, your stomach produces digestive juices that help in processing the food in your stomach when you drink water it dilutes the juices. If you have to then try having warm water or a warm drink. While processing the food, your stomach is all warmed up & cold drink means it has to reheat.

 6.  One ‘Golden rule’ is: EAT EARLY, EAT SLOWLY

Another ‘Golden Rule’ is EAT BREAKFAST LIKE A KING, LUNCH LIKE A QUEEN, & DINNER LIKE A BEGGAR. If you eat your main meal at the beginning of the day, it provides energy for the rest of the day. If you eat less at night, like mentioned above, it’s good for all aspects of health including getting a good night’s sleep.

. If you are addicted to eating between meals and want to give it up: drink a large glass of water every time you feel like snacking, this will satisfy your tongue, your stomach and it will also purify you body systems

7. Never read newspaper in detail , in morning. At this time our mind is just like a blotting paper which soaks the negative information given in newspapers very easily (like news about cruelty, jealosy, anger, greed, ego related news) . This will create problem for our entire day. As is the morning input, so is the output of our mind. So even if u want to read any such news then you can read them after 12 pm ) 

 

8. While frying food items , take small amount of oil , so that it can not be used again for frying. This is because once  oil is used for frying purpose, then after cooling down, that oil creates some toxic products which create heart problems.  So don’t reuse that oil.

 

9. Always include some fiber products like cucumber, carrot, cabbage or other salad products  in your diet. Fiber acts as cleaner for our intestines.  Do some physical work like walking, jogging etc everyday but not after eating  solid diet else it will create more problem rather then giving any benefit

 

10. Never eat in hurry or under any tension on mind . It is better to eat less rather then eating more in hurry.  Keep mobile phone switched off while eating and avoid taking any food before one hour of sleeping. 

Relax while eating your meal. Eating when you are rushed increases your stress and slows down the digestive process. Create a nice calming atmosphere when eating and make sure you can devote time to eating.

·         Take a short walk of 100 steps after the meal (Not immediately but after 15 minutes of taking meal)

·         Avoid strenuous exercise within 2 hours of eating.

·         Prefer organic foods, fresh, locally grown foods.

 

 VAJRASANA -  Usually it is not advised to do yogasanas (yoga postures) after eating. There is one exception! Vajrasana (the diamond pose).  This is the only asana that you can, in fact you should do after eating. In Vajrasana you sit on your heels with your legs folded underneath your body. The back is straight and the stomach is free, and there is pressure on the legs which activates the ‘Vajra’ (diamond) naadi (energy pathway or meridian) which enhances the digestion. Sitting in Vajrasana benefits everyone especially if you have gas, constipation, acidity, diabetes or any digestive complaint. In fact if you have constipation, sit in vajrasana while you have your first morning cup of hot drink and very soon you’ll be running to the bathroom. (See vajrasana pose at end of this page)

 

  

Along with giving proper attention to our physical health , we should also give proper diet to our soul. If soul is strong then it can cover various diseases through its own powers.  Now soul requires positive thoughts, so that it remain happy  & contented .
